There are many different consultants that may be required through the design process, a few of the more common ones are listed below.

• Structural Engineering
  Expert structural engineering services are key for any construction project. They offer practical and efficient construction solutions all without compromising the architectural style. Not only are they required to ensure unique and more complex elements of the build are structurally sound, they are also able to assist with assessing specific ground conditions.

• Surveying
  Surveying is an essential step in any new build and includes a range of responsibilities. These responsibilities start before the first designs ever take place with the confirmation of property boundaries, locations of existing built structures, and topographic features. Surveyors will closely work with the architectural designers as the project progresses to establish any future boundaries or easements. In larger multi-unit developments, there expertise is essential when it comes to designing an efficient services network and roading infrastructure.

• Fire
  For larger projects such as apartments, the involvement of a fire engineer will be required. There expertise is required to ensure the building meets all requirements to keep the occupants safe in the event of a fire.

At Design Network we have an established relationship with a variety of consultants throughout the Hutt Valley and Wellington region.

These established relationships allow us to take the position of lead consultant for the project. As lead consultants, we make contact with and liaise with any other consultants that are required to get building consent. This way you do not need to be managing what the engineer and surveyor are doing, we will take care of that for you and keep you up to date throughout the entire process. If you have a preferred consultant, we are happy to work with them to get your consent across the line.
